{"id":665,"date":"2016-06-26T09:00:01","date_gmt":"2016-06-26T09:00:01","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/edicao2015.angrajazz.com\/?p=665"},"modified":"2016-07-26T10:11:39","modified_gmt":"2016-07-26T10:11:39","slug":"18o-angrajazz","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/edicao2021.angrajazz.com\/en\/18o-angrajazz\/","title":{"rendered":"18\u00ba ANGRAJAZZ"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The 18\u00ba Angrajazz &#8211; Festival Internacional de Jazz de Angra do Hero\u00edsmo, takes place at Terceira Island. in the Azores, from 13 to 15 of October 2016. \u00a0Terceira is a small and beautiful island, with a population of 60 000 people. \u00a0The city of Angra do Hero\u00edsmo is classified as World Heritage Patrimony by UNESCO.<\/p>\n<p>Angrajazz is organized by a non-profit association \u2013 Associa\u00e7\u00e3o Cultural Angrajazz \u2013 with the support of Angra\u2019s City Council, the Regional Departments of Culture and Tourism, and many private sponsors.\u00a0 For the last seventeen years a great number of the world\u2019s most important jazz musicians have played at Angrajazz. \u00a0Please see our site <a href=\"http:\/\/www.angrajazz.com\">www.angrajazz.com<\/a><\/p>\n<p>This year takes place the 18<sup>th<\/sup> edition of Angrajazz.\u00a0 It is a festival which is a reference in Portugal, one of the main cultural events of the Azores Islands, and one important promotional means for the city of Angra do Hero\u00edsmo, Terceira Island, and Azores Autonomous Region.<\/p>\n<p>Angrajazz takes place at the Centro Cultural e de Congressos de Angra do Hero\u00edsmo, which is prepared as a big jazz club &#8211; 550 persons. \u00a0The Festival occurs in three nights, with double concerts. This year there will be musicians from A\u00e7ores, Portugal and USA.<\/p>\n<p>The program opens on Thursday 13<sup>th<\/sup>, with the Angrajazz Orchestra with special guests Paulo Gaspar ande Ricardo Toscano, followed by the bassist Christian McBride leading his Trio.<\/p>\n<p>The second day, Friday 14<sup>th<\/sup>, is dedicated to the portuguese Des\u00edd\u00e9rio L\u00e1zaro \u201cSubtractive Colors\u201d, followed by the Baida Quartet leaded by the trumpet player Ralph Alessi.<\/p>\n<p>On the third day, Saturday 15<sup>th<\/sup>, the singer Charan\u00e9e Wade will open the night, and the veteran\u2019s all star group The Cookers will close the 18\u00ba edition of Angrajazz.<\/p>\n<p>During the festival, at the foyer of the Centro Cultural, there will be a CD fair with the presence of the main Portuguese distributors and expositions, a selling desk of Angrajazz merchandizing, and a painting exposition by Carlota Monjardino dedicated to the City of Angra do Hero\u00edsmo.<\/p>\n<p>Besides the music, the festival is a good opportunity to discover the beautiful Terceira Island.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The 18\u00ba Angrajazz &#8211; Festival Internacional de Jazz de Angra do Hero\u00edsmo, takes place at Terceira Island. in the Azores, from 13 to 15 of October 2016. \u00a0Terceira is a small and beautiful island, with a population of 60 000 people. \u00a0The city of Angra do Hero\u00edsmo is classified as World Heritage Patrimony by UNESCO.
